You would pull the rotor out and turn it around to reverse the polarity ...

If you haven't seen these yet...one motor programmable for 1075 or 825, CCW or CW.

I've installed a couple just to see how reliability turns out. I think it's actually a Broad Ocean product.

Oh I have done it many times before, but there are times when the wires would make it a bitch to do

I have also taken the motor apart and rewired the start windings, they are what controls the direction

    I see it does work...

They are more expensive than PSC's, but not way more...maybe 25-30% higher than a good Century ball bearing motor. The concern is whether or not they will last as long as, a good Century ball bearing motor...

I don't make 'em...just relate my personal experiences. And, I installed one that also lasted an entire week.

I've used a garden sprinkler more than once to get a unit back online. Customers response is always the highlight of the day.

    Puron,

What did you mean by this? Water instead of a fan motor? (if so what a cool idea).

It won't hurt them for a weekend, but then you get to change it out in a mini swamp on Monday

Funny thing is in all my years, it never occurred to try this trick to get someone through the night etc. --very cool idea.

There’s a resident sprinkler waiting underneath a couple market condensers up here in hackland.
