When there is a call for heat,
the outdoor fan motor starts and runs for a few seconds, then stops.
There are 5 fault lights on this unit. 1 green and 4 red.
    Green - flashing
    Red - not lit
    Red - not lit
    Red- lit
    Red- not lit

According to the label on the inside of the unit- Output Over current......

I have no idea where to start.
    Any help would be appreciated

Nothing really to offer other than look at the circuit boards closely. Ive seen one mini-split stopped by a tree-frog on the board. Just reading about this fault it sounds like it could be caused by a stuck compressor?

Sounds like you have to much current from the board to the odf.

Power it down for 10 minutes and check all connections . That should allow it to completely re set. Fire it up and check for codes again . Possible it was an incoming power surge. If not dig in the manual

Usually that means compressor overcurrent, when the compressor draws too much it shuts down fan and comp both.

I would guess either compressor or inverter is bad. Ohm out the windings, they should be equal, like a 3 phase. Check output voltage from inverter, (compressor disconnected), all 3 legs should be exactly the same.

Daikin is one manufacturer that puts its service manuals out for access. Any time you have a problem with one of their units, head right to their website and get the manual.
