Dew Point

    I hope I did not miss something here. I am ok with the blend, however azeotrope or not, the water moisture in refrigerant still goes to it's dew point in the bottom of the evap. CFC and water = hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid. This acid damage is basically noticeable when the solution is static. If I am off base again let me know.

    I don't know about all the fancy math and physics but in my house the the dew point is the do point. My wife points and I do or I suffer from serious fractionation. :)

    roy, cfc and water alone generally will not create acids. when you add heat to the mix ( I.e. heat of compression) over time it does. the real issue is that once the acids are formed in a sealed system, they attack things like the varnish on compressor windings, as well as bearing surfaces.

    Flange I am not buying all of that. Time is a factor but heat is a catalyst that would speed up most any reaction, but we are talking about dew point. Man have I stuck my neck out here again.
