    As far as the test, all the sealed cans floated except the regular Coke, it sank.

    Specific gravity is the key here. I think 100 degrees is the base line.

    It was taking too long so I googled it the other day :oops:
    The diet can weighs less since they don't need as much artificial sweetener to get the same sweetness as the regular.

    The regular Coke has sugar in it, the sugar raises the specific gravity to it is heavier than water, the diet doesn't have the sugar and the beer has alcohol that is lighter then water. The little air bubble in the top of the filled can offsets the weight of the aluminum can

    I know from experience that if you don't catch the beer before it hits the lake water you have seconds to retrieve it before you have warm beer.

    I had the same thought as Roy right after I made the first post. Then I remembered this is about water. I can see the CO2 come out of solution and the bubbles rise to the top of a glass and pop. So I just left that out there for someone to correct me.
