Had a rtu, haveing a problem with continuous blower. Thermostat is electronic, basic digital stat.

    Stat is off, fan auto

At the unit I jump r to g and the compressor also kicks on. I'd think that the fan would be the only thing energized, not the cooling since the stat is off.

    What ya think

This old carrier 40TJD something or other has been used and abused by others. The blower is controlled by the ign bd. Some dipper had put a wire from g to blower contactor as well as the one from the bd. The unit has a blower delay, about 30 seconds or so.
The board is old and the relay I think would stick causing the blower motor to stay on. It then would feed the 24 back to the stat through the extra wire on the contactor coil and run the cooling. :banghead: Took me a couple of visits to finally figure it out.

No, the question is not answered yet, is an electronic stat in the off position supposed to still have closed contacts. This stat may be bad, I don't know.

It always does that with the stat, or "R" wire hooked up. disconnect the r wire first, then try it.:loltard:
