Everything worked fine after a hard reset

had him run it in low and high speed, charge is good, run cap is good

maybe a condenser fan going out intermittently :headscratch:

Ya. It's better when it just keeps trying to restart the compressor and fries the start winding. We make more mon$y! :tard:

Wish I remembered what fixed this one lol, Ive got another one doing the same thing, already replaced run cap and start relay/cap, charge is good, starts on low and high when pushing in the contactors

symptom is........several times a day, compressor is off while the condenser fan is still running

Wow im surprised i think I know the answer to this one. A few years ago my bosses sister had same issue I caught the bastard fan motor occasionally did not spin anyway long story short factory kinda sorta knew but wasn't exactly spilling the beans. Changed motor problem solved.

If you did not use factory start kit parts, you may as well order a compressor now.

Sounds like the compressor does not start when switching to high speed. The unit should stop in between low and high speed.

50/50 on the cap, but it if has a kick start in it when you get there don't bother. That compressor is soon to be history.

Also watching the amps is they only way to know if you in high or low speed. The rotation on that compressor depends on if the power goes direct to the comp or goes to the start cap first. Lefty lowie, righty highty so to speak. So if the cap is bad no righty.

Carriers problem was trusting Bristol and buying their comp.

Swampy they have a condenser replacement program for that unit also. They sell the cust a Infinity 17 2 speed scroll condenser for a low price. If you do it that way it requires a module change on the ECM motor also under warranty.

You see no one can be perfect Jeff not even Carrier (but they are close :)), But they are honorable and do the right thing when there is a problem.
