    Intercepted no ac call, turned corner of house and seen what looked like a reefer unit. Nope, just an old Lennox. Condenser fan running, could hear compressor trying like hell. Further investigation revealed the 35mfd run capacitor that's in line with start capacitor has played out. So I return to the van, grab my homemade superboost (never fails) and a 35mfd cap. Installed the new cap and started the unit. Everything took off running. Checked everything.

    Suction - 85psi
    Head - 205psi
    LLT - 96*
    SCT - 101*
    SLT - 63*
    SST - 50*
    DAT - 64*
    RAT - 80*
    ODT - 84*

    Unit serial number is 5187C03897, mfg date 03/87
    Thought about tuning up and maybe adjusting charge but...if it ain't broke don't fix it.

    @jamesyarbrough
    It's a 2xx mfd start cap with about 4 inches of wire on each terminal and stakons at the end of the wires. I put one lead on C and one on HERM, close in disconnect, then quickly remove the start cap. I haven't seen one that wouldn't take off running or finish breaking.

    @22blood
    The unit contains R22.

    Can't fit any multimeters,gauges and you have open it completely for access to your tools,then it won't stand up on its own! I gotta upgrade. :(

    Mine is overloaded as hell. I'm going to purchase the electrician extreme organizer with 70+ pockets. The backpack doesn't stand up for shit but I can fit 2 of my Flukes in it and a lot of other tools.

    Why not just sell em a hard start kit?

    This seems to be a little stronger than a regular superboost. But if I can get it running, I will sell them one.

    Next time I run across a locked up compressor, I'll see if I can make a video. There's been a few times where a 300% supco superboost wouldn't start the compressor and the start cap either made it run or broke the internals trying. Doing things this way makes you the potential relay obviously.

    Those supco superboosts aint worth a damn. Try the 5-2-1 kits. Has a real pot relay and everything. They make em up to 3xx mfd. I have freed a few with those, and blown terminals a couple times as well. :D

    Either way its time for a bid for replacement. Love those calls

    I haven't heard of these. I'm gonna have to do research. I've just been doing my own thing with my setup lol. I'll definitely order me a couple of those.
