Dropped my 87V many times but the last time cracked the LCD.
I see they got new LCD displays for 50 bucks.
Would you fix it or just get a new meter?

Quite a few are still assembled\made here. Somewhere on my old computer I have an old country of origin matrix for their products. I recently purchased a 289 to have in addition to my 189. I had to fill out a country of origin request form and email them back to see if it was still assembled here. Still was

Yea I'm cheap. I bought this 87V used on eBay. Think I payed under 200 for it. I don't think the 233 has micro amps.

I had an 87 for over 25 years it's a great meter. The only problem I have had was when I got stupid and blew one of the two fuses inside.

My 87 (about the 4th one) was made in Thailand, probably by some 6'4" poochi named Bubba with blue eyes that looks like me:lachen::lachen::lachen:

if one of my guys dropped a meter while at work, he would go to grainger or another nearby supply house and get another one. He would tag the job name as "tool replacement" and tell me about it later. If you are using your tools to make a company money, its up to them to replace broken tools. JMHO
