Mystery recovery tank

    Is there an easy way to tell what kind of refrigerant is in a recovery tank? The tag is missing.

    I think its got a mixture of stuff in there, going to try icing the tank and see what kind of pressures I get.

    Too many refrigerants, lots of retrofits, etc also glide on some.

    Different story if it's definitely either green or pink then it's easy.

    Before too long, shit already there is a good chance it is mixed, even in an operating unit

    Back in the olden days you could order a Carrier unit with R12, 500 or 22, used to run into machines that had all three in them, the only way to tell was looking at the data plate

    I am sure it would the old Carriers worked too.

    I think we had fed so much bullshit about how stuff will work and won't work, kind of like POE oil, it doesn't mix with mineral oil oh wait a little mineral oil makes it work better oh wait no it won't it is all bullshit

    Well at least a large amount of it is bullshit
