I don't want to have to "open" a picture, I want to see it as I scroll through.

I won't post any more pics unless they are really cool. I don't know the difference in file sizes

    Is it:
The sheer size of all threads/files past, and current? Like the entirety of this site....

Or is it the volume of users?

Or is it the large amount of page views especially pages with large photos?

the latter, we have unlimited bandwidth and storage space, its how much speed can we have at once

loading text is nothing, little avatars are nothing, 10-20 people trying to download a 5 mb image along with everything else going on simultaneously will slow things down.

Im going to lower the file size limit to where a full size picture fits the forum properly, we cant host images that big onsite anymore

Xenforo has a media gallery addon, might be cool but we still cant have mega sized pics

    XenForo Media Gallery - $60 (extension $15)
The Media Gallery is an official XenForo add-on that allows you and your users to create galleries of images and videos, integrated into your forum. Media may be added to admin-created categories or users may create their own albums with full privacy controls.

Media can be interacted with through likes, ratings and comments. Users can even tag other users in their images. Media can easily be shared or embedded into posts with a custom BB code. Further customization of media can be done through a tagging system and custom fields.

The Media Gallery is fully integrated into XenForo, including full permission control, moderator logging, manual approval, inline moderation, reporting, recent activity and a fully responsive design.
You must have be running XenForo 1.3.0 or newer to use this add-on.

Access to Media Gallery updates and support is included as long as your XenForo license is current for support and updates. When extending your XenForo license, the cost of add-on extensions will be automatically added to the base cost.

    XenForo Resource Manager - $60 (extension $15)
The Resource Manager is an official XenForo add-on that allows you to manage resources such as files and tutorials or other article-like content along side your normal forum. The aim is allow content such as files to be listed with a focus on the initial content rather than discussion surrounding it. Users can watch resources and be updated whenever a new version is released.

Resources can be sold (as a link to external purchase handling), downloaded directly from the resource manager, downloaded from an external URL, or provided without a file. The administrator can control the type of resources allowed and who can post them on a per category basis. Discussion threads can automatically be created for each resource, allowing the target forum and a thread prefix to be specified per resource category.

It is completely integrated into XenForo, including support for moderator permissions, logging, manual approval and soft-deletion, liking, news feed entries and alerts, reporting, search, spam cleaning, and statistics.

You must have be running XenForo 1.2.0 or newer to use this add-on.

Access to Resource Manager updates and support is included as long as your XenForo license is current for support and updates. When extending your XenForo license, the cost of add-on extensions will be automatically added to the base cost.

    XenForo Enhanced Search - $50 (extension $10)
XenForo Enhanced Search is designed to give significantly better search performance and additional search options to your users. It is built on top of elasticsearch, which is in turn built on top of Lucene. This gives excellent performance, even with millions of pieces of content. Elasticsearch allows nearly infinite scalability and redundancy by silently allowing searches to be run across multiple servers. Additionally, you benefit from a very small stopword list and no minimum word length, allowing nearly any search to return meaningful results. Elasticsearch also provides support for returning results based on how relevant they are to your search. You can select relevancy ordering on the advanced search page.

You must have access to install elasticsearch 0.16.0 or newer and XenForo 1.3.0 or newer to use this add-on. Only customers with dedicated servers or VPSes will be able to use it.

Access to Enhanced Search updates and support is included as long as your XenForo license is current for support and updates. When extending your XenForo license, the cost of add-on extensions will be automatically added to the base cost.

there are sites that host a lot of gun porn and they will only allow 600x800 pics. I learned to resize pics because of that.

It worked just fine the pictures are there.

And as far as the site running off a cell phone, Nasa sent men to the Moon on less than Windows 1.
