Snakes are pretty cool creatures. Glad we don't have much for venomous snakes around here. Only the timber rattlesnake and the eastern massasauga.

This is the longest Coral snake I have ever seen. It's head is so small 3/8" at best and 19" long. Getting bit by a coral snake or a copper head is a long shot. But still out of place.

wasn't familiar with this snake so I wiki'ed it. What stood out was the fact that the drug companies ain't make any anti venom for a coral snake bite.
    Not enough jack for 'em.

I like this Beagle. The copper head should fit in this also. The chances are slim although they are poisonous. Rattle Snakes and Moccasins are tough. One rattles and one stinks to let you know it is around. A Moccasin is aggressive when pissed off. If you have to kill a rattler and it is 5 foot long, don't use a shovel with a point. Use a flat blade or a hoe. Get it right the first time. If you hit it in the tail, the snake can strike the distance of any shovel handle.

I had a copperhead snake inside of an old Trane condenser once, thrilling to find. He liked the crankcase heater it seemed. I told the homeowner to call me when he left.
Anyhow he slithered off but returned for me to find him again. This time the animal rescue guy collected him with a snare and sack. He was definitely a copperhead they said.
I'm kind of a live and let live guy as long as they don't come after me, just hate the surprise part of it. Makes the job interesting, yes?

It wasn't uncommon to find snakes, large turtels and a couple of alligators up under the pumps and compressors at the plant. They liked the warmth and vibration.
