Hopefully His Dad slapped Him with the Long Hand and Punched Him with the Short Hand! I hope he at least had his Pants Pulled up to his waist and tied his sneakers.

If you can get a job while in School, that's the ideal situation. Just have to convince someone to give you a chance and that they won't be waisting time and money on you! Emphasize your loyalty effort and reliability, then keep your word! It's a small HVAC/R World, reputations get around!

An experienced tech should be able to evaluate a new guy in a week, given the right type of calls to go to. It's really quite easy to figger out. Are they worth training on what they are weak in? Problem is, around here, employers are so desperate for another body they are willing to "put up with"

The bosses son told him to hire me. I rode with the lead tech for six months and that was it. Did most of the Scotsman ice maker rebuilds in the shop. Scotsman had just come out with a direct drive gear box for their flaker machines. I liked their belt drive machines better.
I have a Tech test that Reek posted on channel 3 about 14 yrs. ago. Just not sure where I put it.

With all the yutes I’ve trained, I could tell the first few hours if they would be any good or not.
