Wanting to have a whole house humidifier installed on the HVAC system to avoid tanks and filling, and the mess and hassle of portable units.

What's the recommendation of the Beeb HVAC experts? Also, the ballpark cost to having it installed??

    Thanks!

I personally wouldn't put one in my ducts, too many issues. If I really wanted one, I would get a Honeywell steam job like an hm609 series and blow it into the occupied space, or the duct if that was the only way. I have radiant heat and a very tight home, so I just use a portable and fill it once per day when its below 20 outside.

A Generalaire bypass humidifier if it can be installed in a basement or somewhere where it could never freeze

Had an old Emerson 12 gallon console, for 20 years, between two properties, was awesome, only had to replaced the motor once. Floats went last year,no replacements available,so I junked it. Ill be lucky to get 3 years out if this cheap $150.00 piece of crap! Nothings made today like yesterday.:( IMG_20180108_211914.jpg

The only whole house humidifier I've had in a home was broken when I moved in and replaced with a piece if sheet metal before I moved out. :dunno:
